Nine Mountaineers Find NFL Homes

The 2025 NFL Draft wrapped up last Saturday In Green Bay Wisconsin. Although only one Mountaineer was selected during the draft, eight other former West Virginia players signed to NFL rosters. Read more: Nine Mountaineers Find NFL Homes 

Wyatt Milum

Offensive tackle Wyatt Milum was the lone Mountaineer taken in the draft, as he was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round with the 89 overall pick. Milum played in 35 games throughout his college career, playing in 2,311 offensive snaps all from the left tackle position.

Kole Taylor

At the conclusion of the draft, tight end Kole Taylor signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. Taylor’s college career lasted for five years, playing his first three years at LSU, and his last two at West Virginia. During his time at West Virginia, Taylor recorded 78 catches, racked up 892 yards, and scored 7 touchdowns over the last two seasons.

Garrett Greene

Former quarterback Garrett Greene signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a Wide Receiver. During his time at WVU, Greene lined up as a receiver on numerous occasions. During the 2022 season, Greene caught four passes for a total of 32 yards.

Greene’s first catch came on October 13, 2022 against Baylor for a seven yard reception.

Two games later against TCU, Greene recorded two catches for a total of 13 yards.

As a quarterback, Greene threw for 5,370 passing yards (10th in the West Virginia Program History), and rushed for 2,127 yards and 28 rushing touchdowns during his career at West Virginia.

Austin Brinkman

Long snapper Austin Brinkman signed with the Houston Texans after the draft concluded. Brinkman made the Academic All- Big 12 conference First Team, played in all 12 games for WVU last season. Brinkman was also a Patrick Mannelly Award Semifinalist, and participated in the Phil Steele All-American Third Team and the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

TJ Jackson

Defensive lineman TJ Jackson signed with the Seattle Seahawks after the draft concluded. Jackson spent the first three years of his college career at Troy before transferring to West Virginia for the 2024 season. During his time at Troy, Jackson recorded 11.5 sacks and forced two fumbles. During his only season at West Virginia, Jackson recorded 6.5 sacks.

Garnett Hollis Jr.

Defensive back Garnett Hollis Jr.was signed by the Tennessee Titans following the draft. Hollis played in 39 career games and started in 29 games. Hollis finished his career with 124 tackles, including 77 solo stops, 12 pass breakups, and 2 interceptions.

Fatorma Mulbah

Defensive lineman Fatorma Mulbah signed with the New York Jets after the draft concluded.

Mulbah played 45 career games and made 13 starts. He finished his college career with 79 tackles, including 32 solo stops, 1.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for a loss.

Nick Malone 

Offensive lineman and Morgantown native Nick Malone was signed by the Miami Dolphins after the draft. Malone played in 53 career games and started in 17 games at tackle. Malone was a memeber of the Academic All-Big 12 Conference First Team in 2024.

Ty French

Defensive lineman Ty French signed with the San Francisco 49ers after the draft. French played in 54 career games and recorded 261 tackles, including 137 solo stops, 34.5 sacks, 63 tackles for loss, 1 interception, 7 forced fumbles, 7 pass breakups, and 3 fumble recoveries.
