What to expect

Honor Huff is the engine of this team, averaging 17.1 points per game. He takes 9.7 threes per game, making four at 41.4%. He scored 24 points last time out against Cincinnati and recorded a career-high eight rebounds. Huff showed he is bought into this team and is willing to do whatever it takes to get the victory.

The problem the Mountaineers face is generating offense outside of Huff. He scored six points against Iowa State, and they lost 80-59. Chance Moore was the leading scorer with 17 points, starting in place of Brenen Lorient, who did not play. DJ Thomas contributed 10 points off the bench. Coach Hodge could utilize him more moving forward as another scoring option off the bench.

Treysen Eaglestaff is averaging 9.1 points per game this season, but he has games when he struggles to score. He has three games with 20+ points this season, and six games scoring in double digits. WVU needs him to get more consistent moving forward as they compete in the highly competitive Big 12.

WVU has 10 players who average 15 minutes or more per game. They go deep into their bench, but this team is full of new players who are still developing chemistry. Hodge should touch on how this team has grown thus far this season and how much he expects this team to grow down the stretch. The big game against Kansas is a great experience for these players against a top team in the country.
