WVU uses second-half surge to defeat Georgia Tech
The Mountaineers rolled to a another double-digit victory, defeating Georgia Tech 82-50.

Both teams had a difficult time putting the ball through the basket in the first half, with WVU holding a 27-19 lead through the first 20 minutes of action. However, the Mountaineers turned it around in the second half, outscoring Georgia Tech by a 55-31 margin, including a crucial 25-9 advantage in the final frame.
Four players tallied double-digit scoring totals for WVU. Gia Cooke scored a team-high 23 points on 8-of-20 from the field. Sydney Shaw added 18 points and four rebounds, while Kierra Wheeler and Jordan Harrison added 16 points each.
The Mountaineers’ defense was in top form. They held Georgia Tech to 34 percent shooting overall and 25 percent from beyond the arc.
WVU enjoyed a 42-26 edge in the paint and converted 28 turnovers into 32 points. It was the sixth time this season that the Mountaineers forced at least 25 turnovers and the sixth time they’ve defeated an opponent by 30 points or more.
Texas A&M riding a two-game win streak
Following their first loss of the season, the Aggies have responded with wins in each of their last two contests. Ironically, their last outing was also against Georgia Tech — a game they won 72-63.
The Aggies trailed 31-30 in what was a closely contested first half before turning things around after the break. Texas A&M outscored the Yellow Jackets 42-32 thanks in part to a 24-15 edge in the third quarter.
During the game-changing stretch, Georgia Tech missed 11 straight shots, resulting in a scoreless drought that lasted four minutes. Although they did not shoot at an efficient clip (34 percent overall and 30 percent from 3-point range), the Aggies’ offense featured five double-digit scorers.
Ny’Ceara Pryor led the way with 17 points and 10 assists. Lauren Wave added 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Fatimata scored 11 points and collected 10 rebounds. This marked the first time that three Texas A&M players logged double-doubles since February of 2023.
