WVU ends two-game skid with dominating win against Mercyhurst
After suffering back-to-back losses to Ohio State and Villanova, the Mountaineers bounced back with a 97-51 victory over the Mercyhurst Lakers.

The outcome of this contest was decided early on. West Virginia raced out to a 23-6 lead after the first 10 minutes and held a 49-17 advantage at the break.
Although the Lakers nearly doubled their first-half scoring output in the second half, the improved effort wasn’t enough to prevent the Mountaineers from coasting to a 46-point win.
Five players reached double figures for WVU, including all four starters. Jordan Harrison scored a team-high 19 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the field and handed out five assists.
Carter McCray led the bench unit with 15 points, along with eight rebounds and three assists. The Mountaineers won the rebounding battle 35-21 while outscoring Mercyhurst by a 50-22 margin in the paint.
Texas Southern hopes to snap its three-game losing skid
Following a 96-32 win against Arlington Baptist, Texas Southern has dropped each of its last three games — all by double-digit margins. Their latest setback includes an 81-52 loss against North Texas.
The Tigers trailed 36-17 at the break, thanks in part to shooting 20 percent from the floor. Despite finding their groove on offense in the second half, the early deficit proved too much for the team to overcome.
Da’Myiah Lewis was one of two players to produce a double-digit scoring total, finishing with 13 points and three rebounds. Daeja Holmes contributed 11 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
North Texas enjoyed a 62-12 edge in paint points and added 32 second-chance points.
WVU vs. Texas Southern: Who has the edge?
The Mountaineers should have little trouble knocking off an opponent entering this matchup amid a three-game losing skid.
