Of course, these numbers are only as up to date as they are at the time of publication. Some games will soar, others will tank.

Regardless, it serves as a good check of the pulse around the conference, and a way to see how WVU stacks up in terms of demand. The number of games have dwindled again, with conference play in full swing.

A quick reminder on the ground rules;

  • Prices as of 10 a.m. Thursday, October 22
  • Using SeatGeek, given its partnership with WVU Athletics

Here we go.

Where the Mountaineers stand

From Homecoming in Morgantown to Homecoming in Fort Worth, Texas, WVU has a new lease on life after a much-needed win against Cincinnati.

Now, the Mountaineers head to Amon G. Carter Stadium to face TCU. It is only the second true road game for WVU this season, and just the third away from home. Next up is a 3-3 Horned Frog brigade in a similar position as WVU — elite on one side of the ball, novice on the other.

Despite both teams coming off wins against regional Big 12 rivals, ticket demand is not sky high. In fact, a ticket to get through the gates is only running $26 as of publication. It is $1 cheaper than the Iowa State game, which previously held the title for cheapest WVU game of the year.

Kickoff is set for noon. Who is surprised?

Saturday slate

It is a busy weekend for the Big 12 on the gridiron, with seven other matchups on the docket Saturday. For the second week in a row, shockingly, one of those games is home to College Gameday.

Cincinnati vs. No. 8 Texas Tech: $88 – Nippert Stadium (12 p.m. on FS1) | Cincinnati, Ohio

Kansas vs. Baylor: $22 – David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium (1 p.m. on TNT) | Lawrence, Kansas

UCF vs. No. 2 BYU: $52 – Acrisure Bounce House (3:30 p.m. on FOX) | Orlando, Florida

Arizona State vs. Kansas State: $17 – Mountain America Stadium (3:45 p.m. on ESPN2) | Tempe, Arizona

Oklahoma State vs. Colorado: $151 – Boone Pickens Stadium (7 p.m. on FS1) | Stillwater, Oklahoma

No. 25 Arizona vs. Iowa State: $25 – Casino Del Sol Stadium (7 p.m. on ESPN2) | Tucson, Arizona

No. 10 Utah vs. No. 14 Houston: $175 – Rice Eccles Stadium (10:15 p.m. on ESPN) | Salt Lake City, Utah

Of course, the top 15 matchup is the most expensive by default given the weight behind the meeting, plus Gameday taking over SLC.

The average get-in price around the conference for Week 7, not counting WVU, is $75.72 (-$38.45). Utah vs. Houston and Oklahoma State vs. Colorado do the heavily lifting, but low prices in other meetings level out the numbers.

Mountaineer money

WVU is in the bottom half of prices again after being the cheapest ticket in the Big 12 a week ago. There is not much the Mountaineers can control about getting TCU fans to show up. Do not be shocked to see a solid crowd by the time the first quarter hits, given the Homecoming date.

As you can presume, these numbers will not only vary in the days leading up to kickoff, but also on a week-to-week basis.
