The New York Giants announced Wednesday that they will conduct six open training camp practices ahead of the 2026 season at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
The six practices will be open to the public and free of admission. The first date is set for Thursday, July 30. Read more: New York Giants heading to The Greenbrier for 2026 training camp.
This will be the first year the Giants have conducted their training camp at the luxurious resort in southern West Virginia. While only one former Mountaineer will be returning to the Mountain State this offseason, various WVU alumni have participated in training camps with their respective teams in years past.

The Greenbrier has housed a number of different NFL teams’ training camps in years past. Notably, the New Orleans Saints, the Houston Texans, the New England Patriots, and the Cleveland Browns have all used The Greenbrier at some point for offseason training.
That has brought a few former Mountaineers back to the state they called home during their college days.
Bryce Ford-Wheaton (Giants, 2026)
Former WVU wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton will join the rest of the Giants in this year’s training camp at the resort. Wheaton played at WVU from 2018 to 2022.
During his five-year career at West Virginia, Wheaton accumulated 1,867 receiving yards, 15 touchdowns, and 143 receptions in 45 games. He quickly became one of the top WVU wideouts in recent memory before signing with the Giants in 2022 as an undrafted free agent.

Wheaton suffered a season-ending injury in last season’s training camp after he ruptured his Achilles tendon. He will aim to use this year’s training camp at The Greenbrier to help solidify his spot on the active roster.
Austin Brinkman (Texans, 2025)
Former Mountaineer long snapper Austin Brinkman spent training camp at The Greenbrier with the Texans in 2025. That was shortly after he was signed as an undrafted free agent on May 8, 2025.
Brinkman played at WVU from 2020 to 2024, starting every game as the team’s primary long snapper. He was named to the All-American Third Team by Phil Steele in his final year.
The Maryland native was also named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team every year during his time at WVU. Now entering his second season with the Texans, Brinkman is expected to be the team’s starting long snapper.
Tony Fields (Browns, 2023/2024)
Tony Fields II spent training camp at The Greenbrier in 2023 and 2024, both with the Browns. He formerly played one year with the Mountaineers in 2020.
In his lone season at WVU, Fields started all nine games that he played and finished with 34 solo tackles, which ranked 16th in the Big 12. He also led the conference with 9.8 tackles per game.
He joined the Mountaineers as a graduate transfer after a highly successful career at Arizona.

Barring inclement weather, gates are scheduled to open at 12:30 p.m. before practice begins at 1:30 p.m. each day. Admission is free and no ticket is required. Fans 12 and under also have the opportunity to get free autographs.
It may be hours away from Morgantown, but football is part of the heartbeat of the Mountain State. It helps when a former Mountaineer is in the mix.
