The team begins play in the Marana Regional, held at the Gallery Golf Club in Marana, Arizona, Monday. Competition lasts until Wednesday.

Road to Marana
WVU Golf finished the 2025-26 season with seven top-three finishes, including first-place wins at the Island Resort Collegiate (September 1), Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational (September 30), and Pearl at Kalauao Invitational (November 6).
The Mountaineers received second at the Mountaineer Invitational (April 14) and third-place finishes at the Gopher Invitational (September 8), Steelwood Collegiate Invitational (October 26), and Schenkel Invitational (March 15).
In the Big 12 Golf Championship at Prairie Dunes Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kansas, the Mountaineers finished in 15th place ahead of No. 48 Colorado.
Senior Wesley McCabe led the way for the Mountaineers with a 37th-place finish at 8 over-par (72-71-72-73=288. Senior Kaleb Wilson finished tied for 46th at 10 over-par (80-71-68-71=290). No. 5 Oklahoma State would win the tournament by going 10 under-par as a team.
The Mountaineers are the No. 9-ranked team in the Marana Regional. The field includes No.1 Oklahoma State, No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Arizona, No. 4 Alabama, No.5 Duke, No. 6 Clemson, No. 7 San Diego State, No. 8 Arkansas State, No. 10 Florida State, No. 11 Saint Mary’s, No. 12 Tarleton State, No. 13 North Dakota State, and No. 14 Iona.
Mountaineer representation at Marana
The lineup for West Virginia Golf includes McCabe and Wilson, with sophomores Ryan Leach and Nick Turowski and freshman Jack Michael also competing. Junior Harrison Thompson will travel as a substitute.
The Marana Regional will mark Wilson’s third straight NCAA Regional appearance. He competed with the Mountaineers at the 2024 Rancho Santa Fe Regional and competed as an individual at the 2025 Amherst Regional.
Wilson has participated in every tournament for the Mountaineers for the past two seasons. He won the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational in 2024 and 2025, was runner-up at the Island Resort Collegiate, and earned third-place finishes at the Schenkel Invitational and Kalauao Invitational.
Thompson was also a substitute at the 2024 Rancho Santa Fe Regional and 2024 NCAA Golf Championships.
About the course
The Arizona Wildcats will host an NCAA regional for the first time in two decades and for the first time at Marana. The last time the Wildcats served as host was in 2006 at the NCAA West Regional at the Omni Tucson National Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona.
The Gallery Golf Club is a par-72 course and is 317 yards long. All 6 NCAA Regional sites consist of 54-holes.
Tee-time for West Virginia Monday starts at 7:55 a.m. local time and 10:55 a.m. Eastern Time.
West Virginia needs a top-five finish at Marana to advance to the NCAA Golf Championship. The last time the Mountaineers competed in the NCAA Golf Championship came in 2024. That year, they finished in third place at the Santa Fe Regional. Should the Mountaineers make it, they would compete at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, from May 28-June 2.
