Of course, these numbers are only as up to date as they are at the time of publication. Some games will soar, others will tank.

Regardless, it serves as a good check of the pulse around the conference, and a way to see how WVU stacks up in terms of demand. The number of games have dwindled again, with conference play in full swing.

A quick reminder on the ground rules;

  • Prices as of 10 a.m. Thursday, November 5
  • Using SeatGeek, given its partnership with WVU Athletics

Here we go.

Where the Mountaineers stand

WVU is 5-3 overall (2-3 Big 12) and went into the bye week securing back-to-back wins. The Mountaineers held on late in Fort Worth to beat TCU, 24-20.

Now, the old gold and blue get their toughest test yet by traveling back to the Lone Star State to face No. 15 Texas Tech. This is the third true road game of the season and by far the most intimidating atmosphere to deal with among those three. Primetime at Galaxy Stadium is not shaping up to be a walk in the park, by any means.

Ticket demand is relatively high, with the cheapest ticket hovering at $76 at the time of publication. It is a sizable increase compared to WVU’s trip to Fort Worth at the end of October, which sat at $26.

Kickoff is set for 9:30 p.m. and will air on ESPN.

Friday night lights

Speaking of TCU, the Horned Frogs get the spotlight Friday when they travel to Arizona.

  • No. 22 Arizona vs. TCU: $16 – Casino Del Sol Stadium (10:15 p.m. on ESPN) | Tucson, Arizona

It will be a similar situation to WVU vs. TCU, in that Arizona’s elite offense will have to deal with the Horned Frogs’ elite defense.

Saturday slate

Six other games, not counting WVU, are set to fill out the Saturday slate for the Big 12. They are all conference matchups. It all kicks off with a marquee matchup in the early window.

  • No. 3 Utah vs. No. 9 BYU: $387 – Rice-Eccles Stadium (12 p.m. on ABC) | Salt Lake City, Utah
  • Baylor vs. Iowa State: $26 – McLane Stadium (12 p.m. on FS1) | Waco, Texas
  • Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State: $52 – Bill Snyder Family Stadium (1 p.m. on TNT) | Manhattan, Kansas
  • No. 17 Houston vs. Cincinnati: $29 – TDECU Stadium (3:30 p.m. on FOX) | Houston, Texas
  • Kansas vs. UCF: $21 – David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium (3:45 p.m. on ESPN2) | Lawrence, Kansas
  • Arizona State vs. Colorado: $91 – Mountain America Stadium (7:30 p.m. on ESPN2) | Tempe, Arizona

To no one’s surprise, Utah vs. BYU takes the cake for being most expensive.

The get-in price around the conference for Week 10, not counting WVU, clocks in at $101. The showdown in Salt Lake City and Arizona State’s duel with Colorado skew this number heavily.

Mountaineer money

WVU sits third out of eight total games across the conference this week, a drastic difference in where the Mountaineers were last time out. Granted, this is more a testament to the No. 15 team hosting them in primetime than it is to WVU’s draw.

As you can presume, these numbers will not only vary in the days leading up to kickoff, but also on a week-to-week basis.
