The Mountaineer faithful who make their way to Kegler’s on Monday nights should bring the enthusiasm for head coach Rich Rodriguez and host Tony Caridi. What to expect

The Mountaineers’ offense scored 45 points on Saturday, the most since its opening game against Robert Morris. It was the best offensive game they have shown after losing several key players to injury, and it came against a stellar defense. Caridi and Rodriguez have some positives to discuss during the show, including the excellent performance of true freshman quarterback Scotty Fox Jr. Although he only threw for 157 yards through the air, he added a touchdown to Cam Vaughn. He also ran for 65 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

The ground game also had a nice game, with 246 total rushing yards and four touchdowns. The offensive line did a nice job of creating lanes for rushers, which Rodriguez surely emphasized during the week. Diore Hubbard had his best game on the ground, with 29 carries for 108 yards and a touchdown. Cyncir Bowers also had a 21-yard touchdown and another 23-yard carry, which shows the big holes the line was opening. They should discuss the changes made this week to progress the rushing offense.

Another key point this week is the recruits who are attending the game against Colorado. Rodriguez said last week they have 10 official visitors from recruits this week and about 100 unofficial visits. The Colorado game is a big one in terms of recruiting, and they must bring this level of play into the game against a weak Colorado team. It would go a long way in terms of recruiting for next season.
