After playing two years at WVU, the Canada native has decided to take her talents to France’s second-tier league. She also joins former WVU forward Taylor White as a member of the Mountaineers’ 2025 class to enter the professional ranks.
White signed with Racing Louisville FC in the National Women’s Soccer League in January.
Vilain’s journey
After attending College de Montreal for high school, Vilain started her collegiate career at University of Portland. She initially sat out her freshman year in 2022 due to an injury.
She appeared in five games for the Pilots in 2023, but did not record any statistics. Following her two-year stint at Portland, Vilain made the jump to West Virginia in 2024.
During her first season with the Mountaineers, Vilain appeared in 10 games, making eight starts. She logged 675 minutes but once again did not record any statistics.
Her playing time increased dramatically in 2025, as she started and played in 21 games for WVU. She recorded one assist and three shots on goal.

Despite the limited offensive production, Vilain became an important piece of West Virginia’s back line. She helped the Mountaineers record 11 shutouts during the season.
Vilain capped off her second year with the Mountaineers by being named to the Fall Academic All-Big 12 First Team.
In total, Vilain finished her career with 2,453 minutes played, including a career-high 1,778 in 2025, which ranked second on the team.
What’s next
Though Vilain has moved on to the pros, WVU’s Women’s Soccer is gearing up to kick off the 2026 season. In fact, Nikki Izzo-Brown’s squad is celebrating its 30th anniversary season starting August 13.
That first match marks the start of the 2026-27 WVU Athletics calendar.
